INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL RADIO SETTING CONDENSER

(a) Install the 2 radio setting condensers to the cylinder head cover with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 7.0 N·m (71 kgf·cm, 62 in·lbf)

2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

3. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR 3UR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: KNOCK SENSOR: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

4. INSTALL CASE SEPARATOR

(a) Install the case separator with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 10 N·m (102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf)

5. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE



(a) Connect the 3 clamps and 4 knock sensor connectors.

6. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR TUBE 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

7. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR TUBE 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

8. INSTALL ELECTRIC AIR CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

9. INSTALL INLET WATER HOUSING 3UR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

10. INSTALL AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

11. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PRESSURE SWITCH: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

12. INSTALL NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

13. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY 3UR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

14. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

15. INSTALL AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

16. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

17. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR SWITCHING VALVE: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

18. INSTALL FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

19. INSTALL NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

20. INSTALL WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE 3UR-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

21. INSTALL FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Install the fuel tube.

22. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Install the No. 2 fuel tube.

23. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

24. INSTALL NO. 1 HOSE TO HOSE TUBE

(a) Install the No. 1 tube with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 10 N·m (102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf)

25. INSTALL VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

26. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

27. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 3UR-FE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSTALLATION (2008 Sequoia)+

28. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH



(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 35 N·m (357 kgf·cm, 26 ft·lbf)

29. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH



(a) Install the mounting bracket with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 35 N·m (357 kgf·cm, 26 ft·lbf)

30. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

(a) Install the mounting insulator with the nut.

Torque: 72 N·m (734 kgf·cm, 53 ft·lbf)

31. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

(a) Install the mounting insulator with the nut.

Torque: 72 N·m (734 kgf·cm, 53 ft·lbf)

32. INSTALL CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK PLUG



(a) Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the drain cocks.

Adhesive:

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent

(b) Install the water drain cocks.

Torque: 30 N·m (306 kgf·cm, 22 ft·lbf)

(c) Further tighten the drain cocks within 360° so that the drain cock pipes are within the range shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

  • Do not rotate the drain cocks more than 1 revolution (360°) after tightening the drain cocks to the specified torque.
  • Do not loosen the drain cocks to adjust them. If an adjustment is necessary, remove the drain cocks and reinstall them.

(d) Install the water drain cock plugs to the water drain cocks.

Torque: 13 N·m (133 kgf·cm, 10 ft·lbf)

33. INSTALL FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Install the fuel tube 3UR-FE FUEL: FUEL SYSTEM: PRECAUTION (2008 Sequoia) .

34. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE



(a) Install the engine wire.

(b) Install the 3 bolts as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 8.5 N·m (87 kgf·cm, 75 in·lbf)

(c) Connect the 5 clamps.

(d) Connect the 2 air switching valve connectors.

(e) Connect the 7 clamps.

(f) Connect the oil pressure sender gauge connector.

(g) Connect the throttle sensor connector.

(h) Connect the noise filter connector.

(i) Connect the fuel injector connector.

(j) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(k) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(l) Connect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.

(m) Connect the 7 clamps and install the engine wire with the bolt.

Torque: 20 N·m (204 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf)

(n) Connect the noise filter connector.

(o) Connect the fuel injector connector.

(p) Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

(q) Connect the purge VSV connector.

(r) Connect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).

(s) Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

(t) Connect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

(u) Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

(v) Connect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connector.
